Avalanche Summary

A few inches of snow and strong winds will create fresh wind drifts on easterly-facing slopes. You can trigger avalanches in this drifted snow. Although most will be small, you can get knocked off your feet by a fast-moving avalanche in steep terrain. If you observe cracking in the surface snow, recent avalanches, or the upper snowpack feels hollow or punchy, look for safer riding at lower elevations protected from drifting snow.
