The most dangerous slopes are where new snow is drifted into a firm, hollow slab on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees. If you notice snow blowing onto a steep slope or experience a hard, hollow feeling to the snow you should consider staying on lower-angle terrain or move to a different slope. Lower-elevation slopes protected from wind offer safer travel options.
