Highlights

New soft slabs, less than a foot in depth, can be triggered today by backcountry travellers at the mid and upper elevations in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. The potential also exists to trigger hard slabs to four feet in depth in steep avalanche terrain where a buried weak layer of faceted snow exists. Avalanches are unlikely at the low elevations due to shallow snow depths.
