New snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.

In gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain slab avalanches are possible, but they can reach medium size in some cases. They can be released, even by small loads in isolated cases. On very steep slopes individual loose snow avalanches are possible, but they can reach medium size in isolated cases.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will become subject to considerable local variations. Wind and new snow to low altitudes: This snow is lying on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack. The fresh wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. They are to be found in particular on south, southwest and west facing slopes.
