Avalanche Activity

New snow and wet snow require caution.

Up to 2200 m rain has fallen since yesterday over a wide area. Above approximately 1700 m snow will fall until Tuesday. In some localities up to 10 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2500 m. As a consequence of the rain more frequent small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

The rain will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack in all aspects below approximately 2200 m. These conditions will cause a slow weakening of the snowpack in all aspects.
