Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of moderate and poorly bonded windslab will persist in wind-sheltered locations such as gullies on mainly North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Some large cornices will remain above these aspects. Additionally, redistributed windslab as well as fresh deposits will affect Southerly aspects during the day. However, these fresh areas of windslab are not expected to be extensive or deep. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Cold with strong North to North-Westerly winds. Freezing level around 200 metres. Some snow showers though the period. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cold and dry with temperatures remaining below freezing at all levels throughout the day. Moderate winds were from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: Little change is occurring within the snowpack. Areas of poor and moderately bonded windslab remain. Most affected tends to be wind-sheltered slopes and gullies with North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Some substantial cornices exist above these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
