Avalanche Activity

In some localities 30 cm of snow will fall until the afternoon above approximately 2500 m.

As the precipitation becomes more intense moist avalanches are to be expected, even medium-sized ones, especially in steep rocky terrain in all aspects above approximately 2700 m. The fresh wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects.

Snowpack Structure

Above approximately 2500 m: In some localities 30 to 40 cm of snow will fall. As a consequence of new snow and a sometimes moderate wind, wind slabs will form in particular above approximately 2700 m. Above approximately 2600 m there are 150 to 200 cm of snow on north facing slopes.

Tendency

Gradual increase in avalanche danger as the snowfall becomes more intense.
