Beware wet and gliding snow
Small moist loose-snow avalanches are possible in all aspects as the day unfolds. Below 2600 m, glide-snow avalanches continue to be possible, gliding snow is increasing, releases medium-sized. Avoid zones below glide cracks.
Warmth is weakening the snowpack further. Below 2000 m the old snowpack is thoroughly moist, wet down to the ground, this reinforces gliding over smooth ground. Very little snow on the ground below 1500 m.
Nocturnal hours: Winds will often maintain their storm-strength even at night, amid scattered clouds. Mild. Saturday daytime: Stormy southerly foehn winds will persist, the air is mild. Zero-degree level at 2800 m. Few clouds, some sunshine. At 2000 m: 2-6 degrees. Strong to gale strength southerly winds.
Easter Sunday will continue the foehn situation. This will end with a cold front as Monday draws near. Avalanche danger levels could increase on Monday.
