Regions

Banff Yoho Kootenay.

Ice climbing conditions are quickly shaping up. Enjoy the early season ice and good skiing available on shelters slopes.

Weather Forecast

Cool temperatures will persist for the rest of the week,  isolated periods of precipitation with no expected accumulation. Winds are expected to remain below loading values.

Snowpack Summary

10-35cm of recent snow with SW winds has formed wind slabs in many areas in the alpine and isolated areas at treeline. The Nov 12 crust down 20-50cm is present on all aspects and elevations except for northerly alpine slopes. At this point the bond to the crust seems strong. Below this the base is supportive except in thin snowpack areas.

Avalanche Summary

Small loose dry avalanches out of extreme alpine terrain, No slab avalanches observed.
