A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail.
Currently there are favourable avalanche conditions generally. The new snow of recent weeks can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2000 m. The avalanches in these loacations are only small. Even a snow slide can sweep winter sport participants along and give rise to falls.
Some snow fell in the past few hours in some localities. Near-ridge shady slopes: In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Sunny slopes: The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust. Above approximately 2000 m there are 100 to 200 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. Snow depths vary greatly at elevated altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind.
Sunday: Slight increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the strong southwesterly wind.
