Forecast Snow Stability: Any recent fresh snow will quickly thaw in the warm conditions. Remaining snow will be mainly confined to high North and East facing corries. Snowpack stability will be generally good. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong South-Westerly winds with a period of rain early on Thursday morning. The freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: Frequent snow showers above 900m this morning followed by warmer and drier conditions in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Localised fresh areas of unstable snow have formed with greatest accumulations being on steep North, North-East and East aspects above 1000m. Above 900m there is a general cover of fresh snow, although this has started to thaw during the afternoon. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
