Generally safe avalanche conditions will exist through the daylight hours today due to our faceted, early season snowpack that is about 30" deep above 8,500'. New snow arrives this afternoon. At the highest elevations the snowpack on the northerly aspects is faceted and surface hoar growth is widespread. On south and west aspects the snowpack is less than a foot deep. The snow depths below an elevation of 8,500 feet are insufficient for avalanche hazards. The ground is mostly bare below an elevation of 7,500 feet.

Northwest flow will develop tomorrow and begin a period of upslope snow showers in the Tetons and Togwotee lasting through Tuesday. Expect a few inches by the end of the day tomorrow with temps in the teens at upper elevations and west wind in the 20-30 mph range. Expect Low avalanche danger again tomorrow due to the lean, early season snowpack and limited new snowfall.
