Snowpack Summary
Up to 15cm of low density new snow exists in non-wind effected terrain. This new snow has likely formed new wind slabs in high alpine terrain and burried a variety of surfaces including old wind slab, facets and even bare ground.
In the mid pack it could be possible to find a thin layer of facets between old wind slabs. This layer recently produced sudden results in snowpack tests.
The height of the snowpack is variable. In areas lee of the prevailing wind, depths of up to 170cm can be found. At the lower elevation treeline terrain, snow depths decrease and are estimated at 60-90 cm.
