Low avalanche danger and lack of snow
The avalanche risk is low. There is very little snow, only in the entrance areas to steep, on shady slopes can there be small pillows of wind drifted snow. Otherwise, the danger of injury from stones and falling on icy surfaces outweighs the risk of burial.
Snowpack Structure
The snow surface is easily soaked, on shady slopes it is often hard and icy. Edged persistent weak layers weaken the thin snow base, fundament if present.
Weather Forecast
Friday will be mostly cloudy, with limited visibility at higher altitudes at times. In the morning, clearing is possible towards the east. In the afternoon, snowfall will move in from the west and rain will fall below around 1500 metres. However, the amounts will be small overall. The wind will be weak to moderate from the west at all altitudes. Temperatures at 2000 m will be around -2 degrees.
