Little Yoho.
The snow quality on shaded aspects (north and east) is good, but lots of surface crusts exist on the sunny slopes (south and west). No significant avalanches reported in the past 24 hours. Good ski quality and cool temperatures should make for an excellent day on Wednesday.
No avalanches were observed or reported today.
Accumulated storm snow from the last 3 days amounts to as much as 20cm. This overlies sun crusts to ridgetop and temperature crusts below 1500m. The mid-pack in this area is generally strong, although the base of the snowpack consists of weak facets in thin areas (<2 m).
A building ridge of high pressure will give us another day of mostly clear skies with some clouds and the odd flurry here and there (no accumulation). Temperatures will remain cool with valley bottom highs reaching only +1 and light winds. Spring is not here quite yet, but look for temperatures and freezing levels to rise starting on Friday.
