A warm and sunny spring following on the heels of a low snowpack winter has resulted in an early summer in the Columbia Mountains. Much of the snow in the mountains has melted away by the beginning of June, and the river levels have already peaked and begun to come down again. Summer mountaineering conditions are good for June, but feel similar to mid-July.
