5 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the early morning. As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind from westerly directions, further wind slabs will form. The new snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. The avalanche prone locations are to be found on steep slopes and on wind-loaded slopes. On very steep slopes small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are to be expected as a consequence of warming, in the event of rain caution is to be exercised in particular below approximately 2500 m along the border with France. Persistent weak layers. Distinct weak layers exist deep in the snowpack. These avalanche prone locations are rather rare and are barely recognisable, even to the trained eye. Avalanches can be released by a single winter sport participant and reach large size, caution is to be exercised in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in little used backcountry terrain between approximately 2700 and 3000 m. Whumpfing sounds are a clear indication.

Wind and new snow: The avalanche danger will persist. As the temperature drops there will be a rapid decrease in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.
