Wind slabs and persistent slabs remain possible to trigger.
Sticking to low-consequence terrain is recommended.
Over the past few days, there has been evidence of large cornice falls and wind slabs up to size 2. A very large size 3 cornice-triggered slab that may have run on a persistent weak layer also occurred just outside the bulletin area on Saturday. Whumpfing and shooting cracks (clear signs of instability) were also described in this recent MIN post.
While it's outside the forecast area, this great MIN from Whitehorse describes conditions there.
Strong winds left behind stubborn wind slabs and hard, wind-affected surfaces. Some good riding and soft powder may still be found in wind-sheltered locations at lower elevations.
The mid to lower snowpack is very weak and faceted, creating a persistent problem. Upper treeline or lower alpine features where the snowpack rapidly transitions from thick to thin are the most likely places to trigger these deep weak layers.
