Up to 70 cm of recent snow and strong southwest winds continue to form wind slabs reactive to human triggers.
Make conservative terrain choices and avoid overhead hazard.
On Thursday, a naturally triggered size 1.5 storm slab avalanche was reported on northeast aspect in the alpine.
On Wednesday, several explosive triggered storm slab avalanches up to size 2 were reported on north and easterly aspects in the alpine.
10 to 15 cm of new snow brings recent snow totals to 50 to 70 cm. The recent snow and strong west winds have formed slabs overlying a 5 to 15 cm thick crust.
Above 1800 m, a prominent crust is down 100 to 150 cm deep.
Below 1800 m, the mid/lower snowpack is moist to the ground in most areas.
