Over the weekend, relatively cool daytime high temperatures, and cooling winds have mostly limited Wet Loose avalanches. Monday is forecast to be 10 degrees warmer, and it will be possible to trigger Wet loose avalanches on steep sunny slopes. Most of these will be small, but even relatively small Wet Loose avalanches can be powerful enough to knock a rider off their feet. A solid refreeze overnight will mean that we see gradual melting throughout the day, from firm surfaces early in the morning to increasingly wet surface snow as the day progresses. Wet Loose avalanches can be relatively predictable if you pay attention to how deep the newly melted snow is.
