Avalanche Activity

Slab avalanches are possible. On sunny slopes a low danger of moist avalanches will be encountered in some localities.

The wind slabs of last week can be released, especially by large additional loads,. The wind slabs are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. On steep slopes small and medium-sized avalanches are possible. In particular at the base of rock walls and on steep sunny slopes individual mostly small moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming. In many places there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.

Snowpack Structure

The wind slabs are lying on a crust. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. The snowpack remains subject to considerable local variations.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
