Highlights

Strong winds and heavy snow have formed slabs up to five feet in depth on wind loaded slopes and in cliff areas. These slabs lie on weak light density snow over slick crusts and await a trigger by backcountry users. Yesterday many slides on moderately steep slopes at all elevations to five feet in depth started naturally and by people. These included slides in the Snake River Range, Wilson Faces and the East facing exit route from Granite Canyon.Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended today.
