Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Soft slabs up to three feet in depth lie upon a weak faceted snowpack. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by riders and skiers in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain and have the potential to step down to deeper layers that lie on weak snow near the ground. Thses slabs will become more sensitive today as warming occurrs. Yesterday morning a large slide on the East face of Lava Mountain was reported.
