Avalanche Summary

Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist at upper elevations across the Grand Mesa. You can easily trigger an avalanche on most steep slopes above and at higher elevations, some of them will release naturally. If you are traveling in the backcountry the best way to stay safe on Friday is to avoid avalanche terrain or stick to slopes where the new snow is falling on bare ground mostly on low-elevation, south-facing slopes.
