The early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely except on very steep, upper elevation slopes where drifted snow lies upon hard crusts. In these areas, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of surface slab 6 to 12 inches in depth along with shallow, loose snow sluffs. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations and the slopes are bare below 7,500 feet.

Northwest flow will continue to bring shortwaves through Western Wyoming tonight and into Sunday resulting in mostly cloudy skies and scattered snow showers. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near 10 before climbing to around 20 during the day. Northwest winds will back to the west at 15 to 25 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Sunday. Mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are unlikely except in very steep, wind loaded avalanche starting zones above 9,000 feet. In these areas, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab 6 to 12 inches in depth along with loose snow sluffs.
