Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Heavy snowfall is expected to fall today and will be accompanied by strong winds. As this snow falls, surface slabs will form to possibly two feet in depth on steep leeward slopes and will be easily triggered by backcountry users by the end of the day. Once triggered these slabs may pull out deeper layers of snow down to a persistent weak layer near the base of the snowpack.
