Highlights

Isolated pockets of dense surface slab up to a foot deep exist in some of the highest avalanche starting zones. These shallow pockets of slab could be triggered by skiers or riders on steep slopes and in cliff areas with fresh deposits of wind drifted snow. Periods of sunshine and warm temperatures could cause shallow loose snow slides in sunlit cliff areas.
