The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. However, LOW hazard holds the possibility that an unfortunate backcountry traveler could trigger an isolated pocket of slab in steep, wind-loaded starting zones.

A weak system from the North will move over the region tonight into Wednesday bringing light snow with accumulations of 2 to 3 inches, daytime 10,000 foot highs only in the single digits and Northerly to Northeasterly winds to 20 mph.The General Avalanche Hazard in the TETON area will remain LOW on Monday. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Remember, LOW hazard does not mean NO hazard, and an unlucky backcountry traveler could still trigger an isolated pocket of slab in steep, wind-loaded starting zones.In the CONTINENTAL DIVIDE/TOGWOTEE PASS and SOUTHWEST TRAILS/GREYS RIVER areas, the General Avalanche Hazard will stay MODERATE. A base layer of weak, faceted snow persists and skiers or riders who venture into steep, avalanche-prone terrain could trigger dangerous hard slab avalanches carrying the entire snowpack.
