Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are dangerous. You can easily trigger slides in areas with about a foot, or more, of new snow. You can trigger slides that break just in the recently drifted snow, but the bigger concern is avalanches breaking on weak layers buried 1 to 2 feet deep. You can trigger these avalanches from the side or bottom of a slope.

Avoid steep slopes where you see bulbous pillows of recently drifted snow, or observe shooting cracks in the snow. More snow on Friday keeps the danger elevated.
