Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at transitions into gullies and bowls. Older wind slabs are mostly small and can be released in isolated cases. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small.
As a consequence of the moderate wind, snow drift accumulations formed. This applies in particular at elevated altitudes. The fresh wind slabs are lying on a crust in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. The old snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at intermediate altitudes. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions the amount of snow is subject to significant local variations.
