The more recent wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on northwest to north to southeast facing aspects above approximately 2400 m. The prevalence of avalanche prone locations and likelihood of triggering will increase with altitude. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and caution. A clear night will be followed in the early morning by favourable avalanche conditions, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later. Significant increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Backcountry tours and off-piste skiing should be concluded timely.
The strong wind has transported the new snow and, in some cases, old snow as well. The old snowpack will be generally stable. Less snow than usual is lying.
