Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack will remain frozen and stable throughout. Some fresh windslab may develop in wind-sheltered areas during the afternoon, mainly on South to West aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations are not expected to be deep or extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be strong North-Easterly overnight, moderate North-North-Easterly during the day. It will remain cold with the freezing level rising to around 600 metres during the afternoon. It is expected to be mainly dry, with the possibility of scattered snow showers during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry, cold day with the freezing level rising to around 700 metres during the afternoon. Winds were moderate to strong, generally East-North-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has refrozen and is stable throughout. Greatest accumulations of snow are mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
