Forecast Snow Stability: New moderately bonded windslab will add to existing localised areas of unstable windslab on North through East to South aspects mainly above 700m. Areas most affected will be wind sheltered locations such as corrie rims, gully exits, crag aprons and the leeward side of ridge crests. Below 700m and on windward aspects the remaining snowpack is expected to be firm and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Lighter overnight Northerly winds will back through South-West to South during daylight hours increasing to gale force on the summits by the end of the day. Occasional wintery showers are expected during the day. The freezing level will gradually rise from 200m to around 550m by the end of the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: Gale to Storm Force Westerly winds veering Northerly by late morning. Almost constant heavy rain only falling as snow above 800m The freezing level rose to around 800m at midday then gradually lowered. ObservedSnowStability: New accumulations of moderately bonded windslab have developed on North through East to South aspects above 700m. Areas most affected are steep corrie headwalls, gully exits, crag aprons and the leeward side of ridge crests. Below 700m, the remaining snow is wet and consolidating. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
