Over a wide area 20 to 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 1800 m. The wind was moderate to strong in some localities. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. The moist fresh snow and the sometimes deep wind slabs can be released easily or naturally. In particular, however, an appreciable danger of moist and wet avalanches exists, especially on very steep slopes, and on wind-loaded slopes. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase significantly in particular on steep slopes above approximately 1800 m. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads, especially on very steep north and east facing slopes in particular between approximately 2400 and 2700 m in little used terrain.

The fresh wind slabs have settled a little in all aspects. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. In all regions in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. On Tuesday in all aspects many avalanches were reported. Numerous small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist loose snow avalanches have been released as a consequence of warming.
The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
