Above approximately 1500 m snow will fall on Thursday in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 2 (moderate). The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack. In the course of the day soft wind slabs will form. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in steep terrain at elevated altitudes and in gullies and bowls.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow of Thursday will be deposited on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in all aspects.

The large quantity of fresh snow of Friday and the wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects.
