Forecast Snow Stability: The majority of the old snow will remain well bonded and stable. Surface instabilities will be possible on sun affected slopes and also where softer deposits persist in steep sheltered terrain. This is likely around corrie rims and in gully tops on North to East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry and sunny day is expected. The freezing level will be above the summits. Gale force winds, Southerly at dawn, South-East in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Dry with some high level cloud. Cold overnight with freezing levels rising during the day. Strong winds from the South-South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of the old snow is firm and well bonded. Softer deposits were found in steep wind sheltered terrain on North to East aspects above 1000 metres where minor surface instabilities were noted. The avalanche hazard is Low.
