Forecast Snow Stability: New snow will mainly fall onto bare ground. Isolated areas of windslab will develop over older snow-ice on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. These areas will be found in steep, wind sheltered terrain such as gully exits, scarp slopes and around corrie rims. Most of these new accumulations will be avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: A return to Wintry conditions with Storm Corrie moving across the area. Winds will ease overnight and start to back to the South, strengthening to gale force during the day. Snowfall from midday falling to all levels. Observed Weather Influences: Storm Malik generated hurricane force Westerly winds with regular gusts in excess of 100 mph throughout this period. Light precipitation at times with the freezing level dropping to around 800 metres by mid afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: There is a cosmetic dusting of new snow otherwise there is little change. Areas of firm snow-ice are found mainly on North and East facing corries above 900 metres with little beneath this altitude. The avalanche hazard is Low.
