Surface hoar growth and surface faceting continue with clear and cool weather conditions. 5 to 15 cm of dry snow, with variable wind effect from recent northerly winds, sits atop a widespread crust. On south-facing terrain and lower elevations, a crust likely is present on the surface.

The mid and lower snowpack is generally well-settled and bonded with no layers of concern.

Mix of sun and cloud. 20 to 30 km/h northwest ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -3 °C.

Mostly cloudy with up to 5 cm of snow. 30 to 50 km/h west ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -3 °C.

Friday

• A hard crust on the snow surface will help strengthen the snowpack, but may cause tough travel conditions.
• Carefully evaluate steep lines for wind slabs.
• Use caution above cliffs and terrain traps where even small avalanches may have severe consequences.
