Avalanche Summary

No recent avalanches have been reported in the region.

If you are heading into the backcountry please consider posting your observations to the Mountain Information Network. We read every report!

Snowpack Summary

10 to 20 cm of recent snow sits over a thick crust capping a moist upper snowpack.

The snowpack contains a couple of crusts with overlying surface hoar or facet crystals, but these have not produced recent avalanche activity and are not a concern at this time.

The lower snowpack is strong and bonded.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • Watch for wind-loaded pockets especially around ridgecrest and in extreme terrain.
  • A crust on the surface will help bind the snow together, but may make for tough travel conditions.
