Lake Louise.
Winter has arrived with snow down to the valley bottoms but many early-season hazards exist such as hidden rocks, trees, etc. Travel carefully. Lake Louise and Sunshine ski areas are open this weekend.
No new avalanches reported or observed but observations are very limited to none. Jasper reported a small windslab, size 1.5.
Reports indicate a 40-60 cm snowpack developing at treeline with drifts up to 120 cm in alpine areas. Travel below treeline remains rugged, but conditions are improving by the day at higher elevations.
Snowfall ends today (Wednesday) with a cooling trend followed by a warming trend and more snow on Friday and through the weekend.
