Spring conditions persist in the alpine with occasional new snowfalls at high alpine elevations.
Expect a firm surface where snow persists, but thin and unsupportive near transitions to bare ground and over creeks.
Where new snow has fallen this will quickly become slushy and unstable in the warm summer sun.
