Slopes that have not avalanched naturally overnight will be ripe for human triggering.
The new storm snow (around 30cm) has not yet bonded to the early season snowpack below. In sheltered tree line areas surface hoar has been found which will now be buried around 80cm deep and could give a deeper than expected failure layer.
An intense storm arrives Monday night, a brief reprieve on Tuesday before another round of snow and wind on Wednesday.
Tonight Heavy now 25cm, strong W winds, FZL (freezing level) 1200m.
Tues Flurries up to 6cm, moderate W winds gusting strong, alpine high -7°C, FZL 1200m.
Wed Heavy snow 30cm, strong W winds, alpine high -3°C FZL 1500m.
Thurs Flurries, light W winds, alpine high -7°C, FZL 1000m.
