Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches and gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are the main danger.

Until the temperature drops wet and gliding avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In particular on near-ridge slopes the avalanches can be triggered in the various wind slab layers.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and rain up to approximately 2100 m a crust formed on the surface during the last few days. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
