Forecast Snow Stability: The recent snow will continue to thaw in the mild conditions but will be generally stable. Minor surface instabilities will be present in the very steepest locations on mainly North through East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. Any remaining small cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very light rain forecast for most of the period. Strong West-South-Westerly winds overnight, easing slightly to become fresh Westerly during the day. The freezing level will remain over the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A mostly dry but cloudy day with very strong, generally Westerly winds. Mild, with the freezing level heading over the summits during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: The recent snow has wet surface layers which were demonstrating poor stability, with debris from numerous single point releases noted. Worst affected slopes were on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The small cornices in place are prone to collapse. Stability is gradually improving as consolidation takes place. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
