Forecast Snow Stability: The existing wet snowpack will refreeze as the freezing level drops. Fresh accumulations of windslab will form, mainly on steep Easterly aspects above 900m. Elsewhere, shallow deposits of fresh snow will be present. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Early on Wednesday, the freezing level will drop to around 700m with some light snow. Strong Southerly winds will veer to the West and North-West overnight and decrease in strength. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a mainly dry day with some occasional light drizzle. The freezing level has been above the summits. Moderate winds have been form the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is slowly thawing and consolidating at all levels. Snowpack stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
