Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation the prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase. The wind will be moderate to strong.

In particular on sunny slopes and at the base of rock walls small and medium-sized moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. In all aspects more small and medium-sized slab avalanches are possible. The avalanche prone locations are to be found at the base of rock walls and adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas. The wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in all aspects above the tree line. Backcountry touring calls for defensive route selection.

Snowpack Structure

The wind slabs remain prone to triggering. The wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. The wind will transport the snow.

Tendency

The wind will be moderate over a wide area. Further warming.
