Fresh wind slabs represent the main danger. In particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. At low and intermediate altitudes the avalanche danger is one level lower.

The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow. In some places sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed, especially along the border with Switzerland. The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger. Avalanches can be released in near-surface layers, even by a single winter sport participant. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls, and on very steep slopes. On very steep slopes dry loose snow avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. In addition some small and medium-sized dry slab avalanches are possible. Moist snow slides are possible. After an overcast night this applies at low and intermediate altitudes.
10 to 15 cm of snow, but less in some localities, has fallen since Tuesday above approximately 2300 m. In some localities 10 cm of snow fell on Saturday above approximately 2500 m. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some places. The sometimes strong wind has transported some snow. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The new snow is lying on a crust on sunny slopes. This snow is lying on soft layers on shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, especially above approximately 2500 m.
