Thanks for checking the forecast, and stay tuned. We're just starting up for the season, and the snow is beginning to stick to the rocky terrain up high. You can find a few inches of snow lingering on north-facing slopes above around 7000' in elevation. With such thin coverage, rocks, stumps, and down trees present a significant hazard, and getting caught in even a small avalanche could result in a traumatic ride over rocks.

No avalanches have been reported recently in the Logan Zone, but remember, avalanches are possible any time snow accumulates on slopes steeper than 30 degrees.

In the Logan Zone, there is a little snow lingering on high north-facing slopes, but there is not yet enough to play safely in. There is 7" snow showing at the 8500' Tony Grove Snotel and 10" at the 8800' UAC Card Canyon weather station.

Winds blowing from the south will increase over the area today ahead of an approaching Pacific storm system. This system will bring widespread rain and snow to primarily northern Utah Friday evening through Saturday morning. Another storm system will impact the area Monday into Tuesday before high-pressure returns.

6 to 8 inches of snow could accumulate at upper elevations in the Central Bear River Range this afternoon through Sunday.
