As the day warms, shallow wet loose slides will become possible on sunlit aspects. Monitor the sun’s effect on the snowpack, and transition to shaded terrain when crusts begin to break down. Roof slides are still possible. Grand Teton National Park has extended its bighorn sheep winter habitat closure on Mount Hunt and in the Prospector Mountain/Static Peak area from April 1 until April 30. Please respect these closures.

Overnight, the approaching weather disturbance will bring cloud cover and the chance for light snowfall. Partly cloudy skies are expected during the day on Monday. Nighttime lows in the mountains will be near 20 before rising into the mid to upper 20s in the afternoon. Westerly ridgetop winds will range from 10 to 15 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Low on Monday morning. Cloud cover and warmer temperatures overnight will hamper the formation of stout crusts, and the threat of shallow wet slides could return in the afternoon if extended periods of sunshine occur.
