The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften earlier than the day before. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent from midday. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes and on steep sunny slopes small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible as the moisture increases. Backcountry tours should be started and concluded early.
The old snowpack remains generally stable. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to significant moistening of the old snowpack over a wide area. Below approximately 2000 m a little snow is lying.
